McKinsey: The State of AI: Global Survey 2026

What it is

Nearly nine in ten organisations now use AI in at least one business function and 44% report enterprise-wide scaling (up from 38% a year ago), yet the survey's real finding is that most still can't convert productivity gains into profit. The agent numbers split by size: the share scaling agents in one or more functions rose from 27% to 40%, while smaller organisations stayed flat at 22%.
