Anthropic: Claude Cowork Folds Into Claude, Adds Docs and Slides
What it is
Announced 16 September 2026, Anthropic is removing the separate Chat-vs-Cowork choice; Claude now decides inline whether a request needs a quick reply or longer-running agentic work with tools and connectors. Claude Docs and Claude Slides launch in beta as in-conversation workspaces, and Claude Design (visual outputs) moves into regular chat. Claude Code remains a separate, unaffected product. Rollout starts on Pro/Max across web, desktop, and mobile.
